& Moderation

What we publish

• Responses that engage with the question actually asked.
• Lived experience, offered in the author's own words.
• Disagreement with the organisation, argued in good faith.
• Practical proposals, criticism and correction.

What we decline

• Hate speech, incitement, or attacks on people or groups.
• Harassment, threats, or the naming of private individuals.
• Content that identifies or endangers a minor.
• Defamation and unverifiable accusations against named parties.
• Advertising, spam, promotional links and automated submissions.
• Content that would breach South African law.

How moderation works

Every response is held for review before publication. A moderator reads it against these guidelines and either approves it, declines it, or marks it as spam. We do not edit the substance of a response — we publish it or we do not.

A response is published only where the author explicitly consented to publication. Withholding that consent still lets you send your view to the team privately.

Polls and interpretation

Poll results reflect the opinions of the people who chose to vote. They are not statistically representative, they are not research findings, and they do not represent the organisation's policy position. Where polling informs research or advocacy, that will be stated explicitly in the relevant publication.

Appeals and removal

If your response was declined, or you want a published response removed, contact us through the contact form and a moderator will review it. Data handling is covered in the privacy policy.
